A Mountain Top

After more than a week of the best luck ever for Aurora viewing, i decided on my last night to hire a tour driver to take me to one of his favorite places to view Auroras. It is unusual to have multiple days in a row of successful viewing, and i figured i may as well get one last one in. I went with three other enthusiasts along with our driver. We arrived two hours outside of Fairbanks and two of us decided that -20 degree weather was perfect for hiking up the snow mobile trail to see if we could find an interesting vantage point. :-O We were right! The driver eventually hiked up too, and we all snapped a bunch of photos of the etch-a-sketch that floated around in the sky. It wasn’t as colorful as other nights, but the chartreuse aurora spiked and arked and gave us plenty of entertainment!
